Exclusive Live Streaming on Netflix Starts with the 7th Edition in 2027
On 2026/10/19, Netflix announced that it will exclusively livestream the 2027, 2028, and 2029 editions—3 tournaments in total—of "La Velada del Año," the event created by Spanish creator Ibai Llanos.
"La Velada del Año" is an event combining amateur boxing matches featuring online creators with live music performances. Rather than a new film or scripted drama series, it is a large-scale livestreamed spectacle bringing sports and entertainment together at once.

The source isNetflix’s announcement dated 10/19. Be careful not to reuse the event date or lineup from the past 2026 edition as the schedule for 2027. Specific viewing dates and times from Japan will only be known once the next event date and time difference are confirmed.
A Twitch Event Moves to Netflix: What Changes?
According to the official announcement, the event was previously streamed mainly on Ibai’s Twitch channel, and the 6th edition in 2026 expanded distribution to YouTube and TikTok as well. The new agreement covers the next edition starting in 2027. Since viewing methods may not remain identical to past free streams, you will need to check Netflix’s event guide going forward.
Not Just Boxing—There Are Live Music Performances Too
Launched in 2021, the project combines boxing bouts featuring creators from Spain and Latin America with live music performances. Even if you find a list of past fight cards or singers, that does not indicate the lineup for the next edition.
The announcement cites a peak concurrent viewership of 930 ten-thousand viewers in 2025 and an average viewership exceeding 600 ten-thousand viewers in 2026. These are past figures explained by Netflix, and peak vs. average are distinct metrics. They do not guarantee viewership numbers in 2027 or popularity in Japan.
