Check Stations for Taking Photos vs. Inside Ticket Gates for Collecting Stamps
Station decorations cover 8 stations: Hakata, Mojiko, Saga, Nagasaki, Oita, Kumamoto, Kagoshima-Chuo, and Miyazaki. Meanwhile, the stamp rally is announced for 3 stations in each prefecture, totaling 21 stations. Your itinerary will differ depending on whether you only visit decorated stations or collect stamps.
Stamp stands are placed inside the ticket gates of participating stations. An admission ticket is required if you do not hold a valid rail ticket, and the official announcement notes that locations are divided between conventional lines and Shinkansen gates depending on the station. Check not only the station name but also which ticket gate area applies.
